2023 SLC Logo Design Contest

Entries Due Friday, March 10, 2023
The 2023 Logo Design Contest for local K-12 students.  The winner will receive a $100 cash prize and will also receive a $100 cash donation to their school art department or local art program!  There will also be $25 individual cash prizes given to the winning design for each grade level (K-12).

All K-12 students attending a school located in Clermont County or within the East Fork Little Miami River Watershed (including home-schooled students) are eligible to compete.  Interested students should register using the form below.  Logo designs should emphasize litter clean-up and prevention - complete contest rules are listed below.  Design entries are due to the Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District office by Friday, March 10, 2023.

Clermont County & East Fork Little Miami River Watershed
 
Event History
The Valley View Foundation, the East Fork Watershed Collaborative and the Office of Environmental Quality work together to support communities and volunteers throughout Clermont County and the East Fork Little Miami River Watershed for the annual Spring Litter Clean Up.  This event is a combination of two events that have proved successful for more than 20 years in Clermont County. The Clean & Green program was started by local citizens and businesses, who believed it was a priority to address the litter problem in their region, enhance the quality of life for the county’s residents and raise environmental awareness. The event grew with the support of Clermont 20/20 and in 2011, was adopted by the Valley View Foundation to continue the beneficial efforts.
The East Fork Watershed Collaborative works diligently to protect and enhance the biological, chemical and physical integrity of the East Fork Little Miami River and its tributaries.  The River Sweep event began in 1992 and has had a tremendous impact on the river and its banks.

Every Volunteer Counts!!
Our success is due to individuals, families and groups who choose to share a part of their day to participate in our event.  We typically have between 600-800 volunteers, collect 500-800 bags of trash, 30-80 tires and random large items that have been dumped...in just three hours!
 
Logo Design Rules
 
Entries should emphasize litter clean up and prevention including one or a combination of the following areas of focus:

  1. Protecting our natural resources
  2. Recycling all materials possible
  3. Putting litter and recyclables in designated containers
  4. Removing trash/tires/debris from waterways
  5. Clermont County
  6. The East Fork of the Little Miami River
  7. East Fork watershed and communities (Clermont Co., Brown Co., Highland, Clinton)
  8. Community spaces (parks, city streets, ditches, parking lots, roadsides etc.)
     
    Must be included:
    Name of the event – “Spring Litter Clean-Up”
     
    Who May Enter:
    Any student currently in K-12th grade attending any school in Clermont County, or any school within the East Fork Little Miami River watershed.

Entry Deadline
Entries must be received no later than 4:00pm on Friday, March 10, 2023.

All entries become the property of Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District and may be displayed publicly throughout the year.
 
Judging Criteria:
Entries will be judged on the creativity of the design, effective messaging and call to action.
 
Awards:
Winner, 1st Place: $100 cash
13 Grade Level Awards (1 per grade level): $25 cash
 
In addition, $100 will be awarded to the school art department of the grand prize winner!
 
Notification:
We will notify the winners in early April.
